a letter from our founder
before you try sunday starter, I want to tell you why it exists.
in 2023, I spent three weeks traveling through greece, egypt, paris, and portugal. somewhere between long meals, fresh bread, and simple ingredients, my relationship with food began to change.
for years, eating often felt complicated. abroad, it felt effortless. meals were simple, satisfying, and made with ingredients I could recognize. for the first time in a long time, food felt nourishing instead of frustrating.
when I returned home, I couldn't stop thinking about the difference.
that curiosity led me to sourdough.
drawn to traditional methods and simple ingredients, I began researching natural fermentation and baking at home. what started as a personal project quickly became a passion. before long, I was caring for a sourdough starter of my own, affectionately named eden.
sunday starter was born from a belief that good food doesn't need to be complicated. every loaf and cookie is made in small batches with thoughtfully chosen ingredients, time, and intention.
our goal is simple: to create delicious baked goods, encourage curiosity about what we eat, and bring people together around the table.
